Environmental Dust Monitoring
What is Environmental Dust?
Environmental dust is generated from construction or demolition processes in an urban setting.
Dust generation can be as a result of renovation, refurbishment or construct structures for residential, commercial or industrial purposes on a piece of land suitably zoned for that purpose.
Emissions to the atmosphere from construction sites include particulates (that is dust, motor vehicle emissions and smoke) and odour.
Such emissions can have adverse off-site impacts if they are not properly managed or controlled.
EHO Consulting is able to provide onsite monitoring and consultancy services to ensure dust levels are controlled and managed effectively.
National Environment Protection (Ambient Air Quality) Measure
The NSW Government is a signatory to the National Environment Protection (Ambient Air Quality) Measure (Air NEPM). The NEPM sets standards for six key air pollutants: carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, lead, ozone and particles (particulates). Particles included are:
- PM10 – particles smaller than 10 micrometres in diameter
- PM2.5 – particles smaller than 2.5 micrometres in diameter
