EHO Consulting can provide same day asbestos analysis within Sydney and 48hr analysis nationally. Our NATA accredited laboratory uses a stereo microscope to isolate fibres from submitted samples and the selected asbestos fibres are viewed under a polarised light microscope (PLM) to identify the type of asbestos fibre in accordance with Australian Standard AS4964 – Method for the qualitative identification of asbestos in bulk samples. The legislation requires that asbestos fibre identification is carried out in accordance with this method.
EHO Consulting can also offer on site sample collection where you will have access to an experienced consultant who would undertake sampling in accordance with our inhouse safety measures to remove a risk of exposure to others during and after the sampling process. All our consultants are trained in sampling of asbestos materials in accordance with The Safe Work Australia Code of Practice – How to Manage and Control Asbestos in the Workplace and the Health & Safety Executive latest publication HSG 264 – Asbestos: The Survey Guide describe the correct procedures for sampling various types of asbestos containing materials including friable and non-friable asbestos.
